Back to School (Preschool anyway)

Well today was the big day. Back to preschool we go. James was so excited that he woke up at 6:20 wanting to know if it was time to go. Jorja on the other hand slept in - she is normally up early with Dad but not today - she needed some extra zzz's to have a full, fun day with Ms Vikki.

And me- oh yes I am glad they are back at school - time for me to get ready for my big trip. My mom, aunt and sister are going to California (Gilroy, Carmel, Monterrey, San Francisco, Nappa Valley). Be back next week with LOTS of pictures from what my mom refers to as "God's Country".

What cuties! Can't believe how big they are!

Sounds like an exciting trip...that is gorgeous country along the coast. I'll be praying for your safe travels and for the trip to be a blessing to all of you.

Corn Casserole

1 can whole kernal corn,drained
1 can cream style corn
1 package corn muffin mix
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup butter, melted
1-1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar

Directions
Preheat oven 350 degrees
IN a large bowl, stir together 2 cans of corn, corn muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Pour into greased 9x13 casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with cheddar. Return to oven for 5-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let stand for at least 5 minutes and then serve warm.

Chewy Cocoa Brownies
Mmm Good!

1 2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tbsp water
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1/tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup nuts (optional)
powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease 9x13 pan
Combine - sugar,butter and water in large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour cocoa, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl; stir into sugar mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread into pan.
Bake 18-25 minutes or until wooden pick comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars. Makes 2 dozen brownies.

Monkey Break
Umm Good and Gooey too!

3 packages of refrigerated biscuits (cheap ones)
1 cup of sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a tube pan with non stick spray.
Cut each biscuit into quarters, toss in cinnamon and suguar mixture. Start layering them in the tube pan.
When you have finished cutting and coating the biscuits you will need to put the brown sugar and margarine into a saucepan and melt on medium heat. Let it come to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
Pour sauce over biscuits. Bake in oven for 35 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Turn onto a plate - pull apart and serve!
